Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany with 3.7 million inhabitants. Berlin straddles the banks of the Spree, which flows into the Havel (a tributary of the Elbe) in the western borough of Spandau. Is a world city of culture, politics, media and science. Berlin is home to world-renowned universities such as the Humboldt University, the Technical University, the Free University. Tourism figures have more than doubled within the last ten years. Berlin has become the third-most-visited city destination in Europe. Some of the most visited places in Berlin include: Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburger Tor, Berlin wall, Alexanderplatz, Museumsinsel, Fernsehturm, the East-Side Gallery.
